Historical
Ligier has given the impetus to Magny-Cours : he wanted that the circuit got Formula 1, in 1991, he won. The French Grand Prix is every year since 1950 (except in 1955) an event of the championship, but the layout has many times changed : Reims, Rouen, Magny-Cours, Clermont-Ferrand, Le Mans, le Paul-Ricard, or Dijon. From 1950 to 1968, it was called "Grand Prix de l'Automobile-Club de France" (ACF), to remember that it was the oldest Grand Prix in the world, since 1906. Alain Prost is the only French to have won it.
